Lotte Group officially broke ground on Lotte Eco Smart City Thu Thiem on September 2, 2022 - Vietnam's National Day and the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-South Korea diplomatic relations.

Following the groundbreaking, Lotte planned to open refundable bookings in October 2022. The average price at Thu Thiem was set at US$10,000/m².

The project sits directly on Mai Chi Tho Boulevard, adjacent to the entrance to the Thu Thiem Tunnel — with direct road access to District 1. Metro Line 2 is planned to pass through the project in the future. Nearby are Sala Park and the Emart hypermarket.
